He then coached a CRASH team in 2009 and joined the board a year later.  Coach Joe is now the head coach of Hillsboro College in Michigan (Division 2). Abraham was the founder and head coach of the Buckeye Heat softball travel organization, the largest of its kind in the state of Ohio.  Founded in 1999 the club grew to include 10 teams and over 120 players. During that time he coached his 18U elite team to a record of 405-98 and has mentored dozens of players toward collegiate careers. In addition, Abraham took over as head coach at Thomas Worthington High School (Powell, Ohio) in 2003, a team that had never won a league title in its 30 year history. In five years as coach, the team won three league titles and a district championship (overall record of 83-46).

CRASH FOUNDERS

ROBERT CONRAD and SCOTT CARLON

Bob and Scott first met in 2002. As the story goes, Carlon was coaching Bob's daughter, Robin, on a losing team called the Rogers Dodgers (10U). After the last game of the season, Conrad came up to Carlon and said, "You are the worst coach I've ever known." Carlon humbly asked, "Can you do better?" Conrad said "yes" and CRASH was born. Conrad provided the coaching expertise that Carlon lacked for a club program that could combine competitiveness, sportsmanship, and fun. Bob and Scott's daughters are all done with CRASH, but the two have continued coaching for fun and friendship and victory!

Conrad's daughter, Robin, was the marquee player for CRASH from the club's founding until she hurt her knee in 2007. Robin still holds many club records (see the STATS page) and as a freshman at Shadle Park in 2006, led the GSL in doubles and hits! She was also only one of two GSL players to make the all-state team.

FYI: Bob was highly recruited by several major league baseball teams (including the Dodgers and Phillies) during his playing days, but life got in the way and he pursued a career in siding installation.
