TWO OUT OF THREE AIN'T BAD

Score two more 1st place championships for CRASH Softball as the club recorded a strong showing at the Cougar Invite in Spokane. The club entered four teams in the tourney in the 10, 12, and 14 divisions. CRASH combined for a 20-3 record on the weekend and fielded a team in each of the championship games.
CRASH '99 (12U) racked up six huge victories in nailing down their second straight tournament title of the season. CRASH beat the Missoula Lady Osprey in the title game, 14-2. After losing their opening game of the season, the 99's have reeled off 17 straight victories, which is a new club record! The team has outscored the opposition 216-19.
CRASH 2000 also competed in the 12U division and won their first four before falling to the Lady Osprey in the semifinals. The team now 10-3 on the season.
CRASH 10 also went 6-0 to score a championship. The team had two tough games with the Spokane Diamonds on the way tot the title, winning both by identical 3-2 scores. CRASH beat the Lakesiders in the championship, 10-4. The 10's are now 13-3 on the season.
CRASH 14 made it all the way to the title game, but fell to a tough team from Canada, Keizer, by a score of 3-0. The 14's are 6-3.

CRASH '99 deliverS bruises

CRASH '99 has slugged its way through the Black and Blue Invite in Selah, Washington! The team hammered the opposition 73-5 as it rolled to the championship of the tourney at Carlon Park.

After opening the season with a narrow loss, the team has now won 11 straight.
CRASH 10 finished well at the tourney after a slow start. The team took home a 3rd place trophy. The scores:

season 10 starts victoriously

The 10th season of Spokane CRASH Softball is underway with several victories for all five teams. Both 12U teams participated in the NSA Icebreaker Tournament in the Tri-Cities and showed very well!
CRASH '99 started off slow with a 5-3 loss in their opener.
The team then rolled into high gear and rallied to win five straight. CRASH outscored the opposition 47-4 in those victories.
Placings are not awarded in the Icebreaker, but the 5-1 finish was the third best record in the 27 team division.

Meantime, CRASH 2000 won four out of six games. The team was very competitive in every game and showed continual improvement.

The next action for both 12U teams will be in the Cougar Invite in Spokane in mid-May. The 10's and 14's will also see their first tourney action then.
CRASH 10 opened with a pair of friendlies with the Lakersiders at Lakeside High School. CRASH scored a pair of wins in that action.
The 14's opened with a one-day jamboree at Mt. Spokane High School, along with the two Stealth teams and the Diamonds. CRASH won two out of three.
Lastly, the 16's did not play over the weekend, but their season actually started last October with their college showcase tournaments in Oregon and Nevada. See the story below titled "FIREWORKS FOR CRASH."

FIREWORKS FOR CRASH

Nine years of consistent success on the field for the club has paid off big as CRASH 16 has just been accepted into the 2012 Triple Crown Colorado Fireworks tournament!
The tourney is highly regarded as the premiere college showcase event with coaches represented from most of the major schools in the country.
Tournament dates are June 26 through July 1.
Meantime, the 16's have been participating in other showcase tournaments. In October, the team went to Medford, Oregon and Las Vegas, Nevada and showed very well!!! The team went a combined 8-3 in those tourneys against solid competition. All the games, in victory and defeat, were very close.

2011 SEASON RECAP

It was an amazing record-setting season for Spokane CRASH Softball. Wrapping up its 9th season of play, the club recorded its 1,000th win and then some as it recorded an impressive overall mark of 225-59 (.792). The five teams also recorded 17 1st place finishes!! Individually, several players broke club records. Those will be posted shortly on the STATS page.
CRASH 16
There were several hi-lites on the season for this team as they compiled a mark of 48-10 (.825) and 5 1st place trophies. The big one was the ASA State Championship in Vancouver.

CRASH 16 went undefeated through the winner's bracket and claimed the title with a 14-nothing win over the Montesano Bulldogs.

Other first place finishes included ASA Regionals, the 4th of July Shootout, the Coeur d'Alene Crush Invite, and SGFSA League.
The team also participated at the TCS World Series in Park City, Utah where they showed well, going 5-2 for a 17th place finish in the 58 team field.
CRASH 14
The 14's led the club in total victories as they rolled to a 51-12 mark (.810). On the way, the team scored 3 1st place finishes and a near-miss at ASA State where they finished 2nd by one run.

First place finishes were at the Cougar Invite, 4th of July Shootout, and SGFSA League.

The team also showed well at ASA Western Nationals by making it to the final day of the tournament. CRASH went 5-2 for a 7th place finish.
CRASH '98 (12U)
The 98's were incredibly dominant on the season posting a 46-10 (.821) record, three of those losses coming at the 14U ASA Western Nationals as the team played up one division.

First place finishes include the Icebreaker Invite, the Northwest Earlybird, the SGFSA Invite, and SGFSA League.

At the 14U ASA Western Nationals, the team finished 33rd out of 44 teams.
CRASH '99 (12U)
The 99's ended up being the best competition for the 98's during the course of the season as they posted an impressive 42-15 record (.737). The 99's scored just one 1st place finish as they were playing basically the same schedule as the 98's.
The team rolled through the 4th of July Shootout for their championship.

Overall, the team had 4 2nd place finishes and 2 3rd place efforts. One of those 3rd place finishes was at the NSA State Championships.
CRASH 10
The 10's ended the season on a roll capturing the 4th of July Shootout and the SGFSA Season League Tourney. Overall, the 10's compiled a 38-12 record (.760) with 4 titles.
Other titles were the Cougar Invite and SGFSA League.

As a club, CRASH scored a pair of sweeps on the season. At the 4th of July Shootout, CRASH scored 1st place in the 10, 12, 14, and 16 age divisions.
Then in league play, CRASH swept again in those age divisions.

The five CRASH teams in league play combined for a 55-3-2 record, with only one of those losses to a non-CRASH team! CRASH '99 finished second in the 12U division with their only two losses to CRASH '98.
Spokane CRASH Softball will enter its 10th season in 2012. In the first 9 years the club has recorded 1,113 wins, a .719 win percentage, and 70 championships!
